Public policy-making is a nexus amalgamating concepts from many disciplines in action. This course is a small-class workshop offering a practical but theory-based understanding of the dynamics of public policy making in Hong Kong. We will illustrate the objectives, constraints and processes in public policy by going through real-life and current public policy issue(s) in depth. Active participation from students is required in the form of background research, presentation, role-play, policy debates and written policy proposals. Relevant overseas sources will also be examined.
