Liu Chun Brenda studied political theory in Sun Yat-Sen University and then political science in the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), where she received her doctoral degree. She graduated from the Jones Hopkins University-Nanjing University Center for Chinese and American Studies (HNC) in 2001. She was a Visiting Fellow of EHESS (Paris) and Harvard-Yenching Institute (2008-09). Liu is currently the Programme Manager for MSSc in Government and Politics (Greater China), CUHK. Her teaching interests include state-society relations, contentious politics and intellectual history in contemporary China.
